Repeat Dispensing

If your GP is participating in the NHS repeat dispensing scheme and is local to this Pharmacy, we can provide this service

Medicine Containers

All medicines are dispensed in child resistant containers unless you request us not to.
Please remember to keep all medicines out of sight and reach of children.
Our Pharmacist can give you advice on the safe storage of medicines.
Patient Medication Records

Our computer system allows us to keep comprehensive records of the medication we dispense to you.

This is completely confidential and secure and allows us to ensure that we can monitor any drug interactions with the medication you are taking and help us to advise you when we recommend any over the counter medicine.

We comply fully with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code of practice for disclosure of Information.

Disclosure of Information

In order to provide proper and safe care, we may need to disclose personal information about you to all those directly involved in your health care and clinical diagnostics. If you are claiming any prescription payment exemptions, we will cooperate with the NHS fraud team, social services, and with relevant court orders, if any information is requested. Disclosure will take place on a ‘need-to-know’ basis, so that only those individuals/organisations who need to know in order to provide care for you and for the proper administration of government (whose personnel are covered by strict confidential rules) will be given the information. Only that information that the recipient needs to know will be disclosed. Where possible you will be informed of all disclosure requests unless the request otherwise indicates.

  • your general medical practitioner
  • the hospital or community dental services
  • other health professionals caring for you
  • NHS payment authorities
  • the Inland Revenue
  • the Benefits Agency, where you are claiming exemption or remission from NHS charges
  • private dental schemes of which you are a member.

Disclosure will take place on a ‘need-to-know’ basis, so that only those individuals/organisations who need to know in order to provide care for you and for the proper administration of Government (whose personnel are covered by strict confidential rules) will be given the information. Only that information that the recipient needs to know will be disclosed.

In very limited circumstances or when required by law or a court order, personal data may have to be disclosed to a third party not connected with your health care. In all other situations, disclosure that is not covered by this Code of Practice will only occur when we have your specific consent.

Where possible you will be informed of these requests for disclosure.
